Pasar Jaya Pushes Various Activities in Tanah Abang to Attract More Shoppers

Perumda Pasar Jaya continues to activate the market through various activities to attract more shoppers.

Market activation aims to bring more shoppers to the market

Perumda Pasar Jaya Public Relations Manager, Agus Lamun said that market activation was also conducted in synergy with various parties, including banking.

"Market activation aims to bring more shoppers to the market. Activations are usually met with entertainment events and distribution of door prizes," he expressed, Thursday (9/21).

Hopefully, it could help traders in increasing sales turnover, including in business units in Tanah Abang area.

"We also collaborate with banks, thus they also get the benefit of knowing how to get access to capital. There is currently also an activation with Bank BTN at Tanah Abang Block B Market which will last until October 16, 2023," he explained.

He explained those who use existing locations in business units have a double advantage from current digital technology developments. They have two markets, the first is consumers who come directly to the market and the second is online purchases

"We have intensively intensified outreach regarding Market Digitalization with the hope that they can quickly adapt to online buying and selling patterns," he explained.

He added the busyness of the market depends on the needs and purchasing power of buyers considering that the market is still very busy during Idul Fitri.

"Market traders are our main partners. Surely, we'll make efforts to bring in shoppers, but from the trader side we must also be more creative and innovative in adapting to consumers' shopping styles," he added.

He detailed that there were 16,390 visitors to Tanah Abang Block B Market on September 10, 2023, from 9 AM to 4 PM.

"On September 11, it still reached 18,617 visitors," he exclaimed.

He hoped that there could be protection for local products, especially those sold by MSMEs, thus they do not compete with imported goods or big producers.

"Many of our traders are identified as resellers. However, when big factories or producers enter the world of e-commerce, they sell at cheaper prices. This is also what makes the lower traders unattractive because their prices are less competitive. Even though our traders sell online with the same product and the same quality, buyers will look for the lowest price," he stated.
